I have just completed the MIC 102G: Intro to Programming curriculum.
Rather than use one of the previous instructors set of lecture notes and assignments, I have opted to build my own curriculum. My end goal in this is to give the students a broader understanding of programming and it’s concepts without diving into a specific programming language. Students in this class will be pursuing a wide array of languages, platforms and techniques. Whether it’s Java, C#, PHP, C++, JavaScript, or a path that involves little coding but requires basic understanding, students need to know the differences between these languages and why they may want to learn them.
This course will focus heavily on programming terminology and concepts, common coding practices and programming standards.
